Storks

Storks
------------
Storks - Church, Soto el Real. Small town outside of Madrid. This photo also with the phone. Not clear enough to see the 40 storks nesting on the roof of the church. Some nests built within the wire frames erected for them, others any other safe and comfortable spot. Three and four moms to a nest. They sound like woodpeckers ... smacking the top and bottom of their bills together. When they take off flying their long legs draggle behind them and the feathers at the tips of their wings spread out like fingers. Today from another vantage point we saw the baby cigüeñas ... ¿cigüeñitas? or do they have another specific name like "gosling"?

Rosemary bushes in the front of the church, lavendar lines the highway as you enter the town.
